INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

GROUP SHOOT

YOU’RE INVITED

The intention behind this group shoot is to reconnect not just with our bodies, but with the earth, and with each other.

In a world that profits off the bodies of women, and the body of the earth— creating art of this nature is a small way we can reclaim our relationship with both.

We will gather together at an outdoor location in Vancouver, which will be emailed to you prior to the event. There we will bare it all, frolic, and make art and memories together!

❋ Participation by Donation

Enrolment is by donation, and sliding scale. The recommended donation amount is anywhere from $20-60, but please pay only what you are comfortable with. All proceeds will be donated to the Dontown Womens Eastside Centre.

❋ Must Consent to Images Being Shared

The images from this group shoot will be featured in Moss Photography’s social media, and may be printed as part of an upcoming exhibition. By attending in this event you consent to the images being share!

❋ Your Body is Worthy!

For too long, art has left out representation. We encourage people of all shapes, sizes, ages, and backgrounds to participate. Let’s celebrate body diversity, as art history and culture has not.

❋ A Supportive Space

Our events prioritize comfort, safety, and respect—so you can show up as you are and fully engage in the process! Please let us know in the application if there is anyway we can better support you through this experience.

TAKING UP SPACE IN ART & NATURE

Let me paint a picture for you— you are surrounded by 20 other women, naked as the day you were born, laughing, sharing stories. You’ve all gathered outdoors to participate in this crazy event you saw posted online, or maybe your friend invited you. “Get naked with strangers, outside, in March!?” Sounds wild. It is. That’s the point.

Our culture likes to observe the perfectly pristine bodies of women in gilded frames in museums (most of which are painted by men btw), but when it comes to the actual bodies of real life women? We face violence, discrimination from society, harm from medical system, and so much more. This shoot asks us to show up and be seen in the frame as whole, as a collective, taking up spaces in our bodies, in art, and in nature.

Yes— it will feel scary! But if it feels like a good kind of nerves, the kind of pushing the edge that feels exciting, and like a YES— then this is for you.

Help me showcase more beautiful bodies in art, in nature, reclaiming our relationship with our bodies, and the planet.

  • Participation is by donation, pay what you can! Suggested donations range is $20-60, but if cost is a barrier just let us know in the notes section in the form below.

  • By participating in this group shoot, you consent to the sharing of these images on Moss Photography Inc.’s online and offline portflio, in print and digital medium

  • The location will be outdoors, please bring a robe or/and blanket to cover yourself with prior to the photographs being taken. Along with warm socks, lots of layers, and a change of clothes (stay warm! It’ll be cold!)

  • Unfortunatley, due to the nature of the location we are unable to guarantee accessibility for mobility aids. The location will most likely be near the beach, and have sand, rocks, and possible stairs to access it. We are lookin to find an accessible outdoor location for future shoots.

  • Misty/Molly of Moss Photography will pose the group while clothed, and then when we are ready to take the final images we will disrobe and get back into position

  • This event is subject to weather conditions, if the forecast calls for rain (or snow) we will reschedule for a later date in May
