Wild Women: Outdoor Boudoir Victoria BC

“Wild woman are an unexplainable spark of life. They ooze freedom and seek awareness, they belong to nobody but themselves yet give a piece of who they are to everyone they meet.
If you have met one, hold on to her, she'll allow you into her chaos but she'll also show you her magic.”
― Nikki Rowe

I met this incredible woman at an event a while back. I was instantly drawn to her energy and the way she spoke to others. Her laugh carries through a room and I couldn't help but smile whenever she was telling me a story. Fast forward to my outdoor marathon where we so luckily got to work together. As a fellow photographer, she knew the best time to book her spot in order to get that dreamy golden light. Pair that with her amazing confidence and the way she carries herself... and we created unimaginable magic.

I think some of my favourite moments with my clients are when we get very vulnerable with each other... boudoir is inherently intimate and vulnerable, and because of that I think it opens up a lot of conversations that you wouldn't normally have with a stranger you've hired to hangout with for a few hours. But boudoir is... different. This woman shared with me stories of her experiences of inhabiting the world as a plus-size woman. I was so smitten with the way she wanted to do this shoot to show her clients and other plus-sized women that plus size IS sexy. That size doesn't determine worth. You are beautiful no matter what. Just the way you are. We both have a similar mission to empower other women through our work, and it was a blessing to be able to listen to her speak her passion and live her truth through this shoot. She also asked me not to remove any of the "blemishes" in her photos - those things that society tells us to be ashamed of and hide from view. Those are all a part of us and make us human... so these images are her. In all her authentic and phenomenal glory.

I am so lucky that our paths have crossed, because she is a beautiful soul and a very talented artist. Without further ado!
